Google impacts Local businesses by introducing dramatic algorithm change

Google has recently announced what appears to be a significant change in how & which searches are displayed when a visitor searches for local products / services.
Within Professional healthcare this means people searching for doctors, consultants, clinics and hospitals are now seeing different results displayed compared to what was appearing a few weeks ago. This is a KEY CHANGE - for many their listing may no longer be appearing on the first page of Google as before but could have been relegated to Page 2 & beyond.
